Departs: From your city hotel one hour before Sunset.
Returns: Late evening (about 5 hours later) to your hotel.

Travel along the South East Freeway through the elite suburbs of Kooyong, Malvern and Toorak then join the Monash Freeway to Endeavour Hills. The scenery changes now to rolling hills and sheep and cattle when we move through the countryside of Lyndhurst and on to Pearcedale.

Koala in the Keep

At the Moonlit Sanctuary, you can enjoy a full Aussie BBQ dinner before the Ranger/Guide takes us into the wild. Spotted quolls, the “cats“ of the marsupial world, slink through the undergrowth. Cute little bettongs hop around your feet, hoping for a feed. Catch a glimpse of secretive pademelons, and watch the graceful gliders leap from branch to branch.

Strange night birds such as bush thicknees, and tawney frogmouths are seen alongside everybody’s favourites, the owls. Of course we don’t forget better known Australians, such as kangaroos, koalas and wombats.

Poppy and Bettong

A knowledgeable ranger, who gives an entertaining and educational commentary, guides the walks. Questions are encouraged and photography is allowed . Moonlit Sanctuary is in the heart of the Western Port biosphere Reserve and we introduce visitors to this unique ecological region during the presentation.
