Meeting the Artist has always been a special occasion, this tour is designed so that you not only meet the Artists, you also visit their Studio/Gallery. You see where they work, you discover what inspires them and experience their environment.
The tour also takes you through the suburbs of Melbourne via the South Eastern Freeway then the South Gippsland Highway, enjoy the contrast of the scenery as the suburbs turn to country and the freeway becomes a country road.......
We pass through the small fishing village called Tooradin then Koo-wee-rup (home of the potato festival) before taking a break at the WARROOK Cattle Farm at Monomeith. Continuing on through the rolling hills as they reveal glimpses of the fertile valleys and towns of Loch, Bena and Korumburra, this is where we leave the highway and climb the Strzelecki Ranges into the hilltop hide-away of our artists.
Mayfield Gallery at Arawata is also the home of John Koenders and Di Koenders and they are a formidable force in the field of painting Australian wildlife and the Australian landscape. Nearby is the small town of Leongatha with plenty of Cafes, Restaurants and Clubs to satisfy your hunger or thirst. (own expense)
After lunch, visit the Dreamers Valley Wildlife Gallery at Fairbank, meet the Artist Emily Koenders in her Studio/Gallery and talk to her about her passion for painting the Australian Wildlife. Emily's Gallery is also located on the edge of the Strzelecki Ranges with a panorama of mountain top views to the north, the rugged beauty of the area is the inspiration for many of her works.
Return to the city via the South Gippsland Highway.
